It was the year 2000. I initially flew out to Sandefjord to visit my friend. When the aircraft began to descend, an alien view was revealed below us. This was my first trip to these lands, and I was thrilled. Having known some information in advance, my expectations were totally exceeded. I could not wait to get involved in the nature.
The island of Karmøy was my next stop. My friend lived there in the town of Kopervik. The view from this road on our way to this island was enchanting. The road itself was stretching all the way from the east to the west coast of southern Norway. Nowhere had I ever seen such a green! Numerous rivers, lakes, waterfalls glowing with their elegance. I could not take my eyes off the views, which showed up one after another. We were driving up and down the rocky landscape. I was energized into driving even further without getting drained. Everything simply felt like a fairytale!
I met people smiling, friendly and positive. With my friend and company, we went on boat trips among the beautiful fjords, we caught fish and crabs. We also went hiking with tents in the mountains and attempted fishing in lakes and rivers. I can’t explain how satisfied my soul felt. I knew I would come back here again and do something even more. What exactly? I just wanted to continue the rest of existence here. It was love at first sight!
A few years later, I met the woman who became my soulmate. On her first visit here, her feelings were the same as mine. We have been living permanently in Norway for over 15 years and we are proud citizens of this charming and peaceful country. Gaining experience about the life, fishing and nature which are typical for these latitudes was in our best interest. The aim of this blog is to reach all of you who are interested in, would like to know more about, or visit this beautiful country!
