Late spring in Norway! You just have to be here to feel it! Everything is blooming, soft and gentle green coat is covering gardens and meadows. The sun is shining, the sky is blue. Sea and fjords, everything is waking up after the winter! Great time for a weekend escape to the mountains and fishing of course.
After a short phone call with friends, we had already agreement to go out together. We choose a place, called Ogge vann, which was about 25 km from us by car. A large, beautiful lake, colourful landscapes and a picturesque road which runs along the lake made the picture amazing.
We found one of the many places, where we had everything, we needed to spend a wonderful day. Cars were parked on the parking lot and we unloaded all the stuff. After that we began moving among the lake to reach our journey last stop.
We walked through a green pine forest. After not a long time, just about about 200 m our way sloped down and went through a small bridge which was connection between the coast and a small island. It was the last point of our destination.
Already on the island our path was passing by small place with about 20 canoes, well and steady stacked on the shore. There was a small wooden hut near them, which was locked. Inside there was everything you need, for a canoe ride on the lake, life jackets, oars and more.
A little further we saw a grill place with stably mounted grill, wooden tables, and benches. Everything you need for your Sunday’s barbeque. Excellent facilities! About 30 meters from the grill there were two lean-tos for about 10 people, intended for tourists who want to sleep outdoors or camp but do not have tents. Amazing is not it! You must have a warm sleeping bag of course. There was around a lot of space for several tents and hammock as well.

On one of the trees, you could find small wooden plate with information how to rent a canoe or camping place for not a large sum. Wooden outdoor toilet was at disposal too, just about on 50 m behind the lean-tos. Many small islands and a lot of water all over contributed to the incredible picture around us.
We had a delicious barbecue and after that decided to try our luck with the fish. My friend was guiding me all the time about the technique I should use fishing in mountain lakes.
We succeed to catch just 6 trout, two of them was mine! What a feeling! And just now I knew the difference fishing with my new rod! It was a learning process where I was getting already results! Trout fishing turned out to be incredible experience. You just have to be patient, and regularly change you throwing place, moving among the shore.
At the end made we a short car tour nearby around, stopping at similar places – calm and beautiful.
The decision was made – we would come back soon!
