Let’s meet Stein Grønberg!
Dear Friends,
Today we would like to introduce you to one of the big names in the sport fishing Stein Grønberg.
The Flycasting World Champion, he has won several gold medals from the Nordics and Norwegian Championships. Among his great achievements are also gold, silver and bronze from the World Championship in Flycasting. Stein and his wife Heidi runs together their unique shop Grønberg sports since 1987. Steins father Kjell Grønberg established it in 1980. This is one of the few stores in the country that sells only fishing tackle.
This is Stein’s great passion. His high competence and quality of the service in the shop are really impressing. The store has wouderfull central location at Vestre Strandgate 24, 4611 Kristiansand S.
Grønberg Sport
I have the pleasure of knowing this person since 2015. Thanks to him I gained a lot of knowledge over the years and especially about flyfishing. I always get the best advice and tricks visiting Grønberg Sport, comining here often to buy and replenish fishing tackle that I need.
Flycasting courses
Grønberg Sport organizes flycasting courses. They are free and are held weekly, almost all year round. Here, beginners as well as experienced throwers meet, and you could say that they now have the largest throwing environment in Norway.
Summer
From April to October, there is a demonstration training every Wednesday evening at a place called Bendiksbukta он Odderøya in Kristiansand.
Winter
From October to March, they rent a large sports hall, and can therefore train indoors at a comfortable temperature. Many young people come to learn flycating here. In this way, future generations are ready for fishing challenges.
The courses are gratis, and everyone can, if they want, to come and learn or improve their skills. There are also so-called own Spey casting courses with one and two hands. In the winter, you can learn how to tie a fly as well. And in spring demonstrations of new equipment are carried out. So, they can be tested and compared.
In the shop you will find a variety of equipment for hiking and fishing, as well as the best tips. From Stein I learned where the good fishing spots in the area. He is always ready to give you advice, which is of great importance. Stein’s wife Heidi is in charge of the office and finances, as well as is actively involved in sales. She is also an active angler and loves flyfishing.
Today I was happy to visit both of them again in their shop in Kristiansand.
