Dear friends,
We hope our stories and photos of the wonderful destinations we visited recently have been helpful and interesting. Here is the continuation of this journey. Enjoy!
Next stop Geiranger
After the stunning views in Flåm and Aurlandsfjorden, we headed to the next stop of our trip – Geiranger, one of the most famous attractions in Norway. The jewel in the crown of the Norwegian fjords, the deep blue Geirangerfjord is situated in the Sunnmøre region of Møre and Romsdal County in western-Norway. It is on UNESCO’s World Heritage Site and is surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, beautiful wild waterfalls, and green and lush vegetation. The area was created during the last ice age, when glaciers rough out deep fjords and formed high mountains. It is no coincidence that the Geirangerfjord is often on the lists of the world’s most beautiful places.
Shortly before Geiranger is the Geiranger Skywalk-Dalsnibba viewpoint, from where you can enjoy the majesty and magnetism of this place.
Geirangerfjord boat cruise
Waterfalls such as De syv søstre (The Seven Sisters), Friaren (the Suitor) and Brudesløret (the Bridal Veil) stun with their beauty.
We highly recommend you take a boat cruise to experience the full grandeur of the fjord.
Walk around Geiranger
The famous Trollstigen here is the only way connecting the Geiranger village with the outside world during the winter.
Ørnesvingen is another viewpoint which gives you a different and wonderful perspective on Geirangerfjorden.
Delicious food made from fresh local products is served at local restaurants and we enjoyed it!
As a visitor or tourist, you can find good information here. Information kiosks are at your disposal, as well as opportunities like Epic Fjord sightseeing by boat, Fjordsafari Rib, Fjord Ferry, and a guided hiking tour.
We highly recommend you visit this charming place. You will remain enchanted!
As much as we didn’t want to leave this place, Ålesund was waiting for us.
To be continued…
Thank you for visiting Norway fishing & nature!
We hope to see you again soon!
