Today’s short trip to neighbouring Birkeland took us to an amazing view.
Driving we reached the centre of the town and turned right in the direction of Herefoss on the road 41. Not long after, there is a turnoff to the left to Mosfjell. We took it and only after about 100 m we saw the bridge over Tovdalselva river. Just before this bridge, on the right side, an incredible view was revealed.
The water itself is the longest free flowing along its entire length river in southern Norway with length is 143 km. It is also known as one of the best rivers for catching salmon. In 2020, the catch here is equal to 1.9 tons.
The Teinefossen waterfall is 9 m high. 65,000 litters of water per second pass through it.
Here you can sit and enjoy your homemade lunch or just a cup of coffee and admire all this beauty around you!
Thank you for visiting Norway fishing & nature!
