Dear friends, today we will tell you one a little comic fishing story from 2 years ago. Enjoy!
It was fall, late afternoon. I came home from work, and I didn’t feel tired at all. Sara had a business meeting. The weather was excellent. I felt I needed to get out on the fresh air. Suddenly an idea came to me! And I decided to go to Justøya Island, which was located slightly west of Lillesand. Тhat’s how it started this exciting fishing story!
Said and done
A bridge connected the two shores. I had found a great place for fishing on the southwest coast I liked. The place was beautiful and quiet. I always came back with a catch from there.
I had bought a new fishing rod, Westin W3 Spin 2nd 7′ 5-25g new reel Okuma Epixor EPXT-30 and I burned with the desire to try them. Now was the time to catch the big fish. Sea trout was waiting for me.
I got in the car and left.
The place of action
After not a long time, I parked the car about 100 meters from the place I had planned. It was quiet and peaceful around. I was alone there. In front of me I had a bay surrounded by rocks. A leopard bottom with different depths from 1 m to 2.3 m. On my left side, about 400 meters in front of me, there was a strait to the open sea. It was the same on my right and in front of me 3-4 small, rocky islands.
First, I started throwing from the edge that was on the right. The whole place formed a large semicircle and stretched for about 500 meters. After not a long time I started to move gradually to the left side. It’s been 1 hour, and nothing happened.
I rested for a while and decided to climb the left side of the cliffs. It looked closely, but I had to go around behind the summer villas to get to the place I had marked. This took about 30 minutes due to the difficult terrain. The rock was about 2 meters high, so steep, enough to go down to a terrace 50 by 50 cm, just 10 cm above the water.
Action
Тhat’s how it started this exciting fishing story!
I carefully took off my backpack, got ready, and started throwing. I didn’t have much space, so I was careful not to end up in the sea. There was a small round rock about 5 meters in front of me. The depth right in front of me was 2 meters, but near the rock it became shallow to half a meter. A wonderful place for sea trout.
I was on the verge of despair. It had been 2 hours and the fish were not biting at all. The sun was already setting. I decided to throw for the last time, and rolled the cord up slightly. After that I let the bait sink and rolled up again. And hop – fish on the hook. It was a serious blow. The fish was big. The new wand twisted. I don’t know what I had caught, but the resistance was strong.
It was a 10–15-minute fight with something big. I rolled slowly up and I kept the thread taut, then let go of the advance a little and rolled up again. I managed to pull the fish almost to me. For a moment I saw the back of a huge trout. In this moment I was overwhelmed with excitement, and I didn’t know how to get the fish out on the narrow terrace I had set foot on. I had of course left the dip net 1 meter behind me, on the rock. It was difficult to take it at that moment.
Тhe final scene
I abruptly raised the hand with which I held the rod and leaned on the rock so as not to fall into the water. The fish made a last effort, turned over strongly and I dropped my fishing equipment without realizing how it happened. The fish sank slowly along with my new fishing rod. I could only see it slowly moving away. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was nothing I could do. I stood for half an hour leaning on the rock, not believing everything that had happened.
Unbelievable but a fact!
That was my exciting fishing story ! We hope you enjoyed it!
